“Well Liz, it’s very nice of you not to tell me that you have already gone back home, huh?” since I haven’t known her phone number in here yet, I decided to call her home.
“I’m sorry, I’ve been meaning to text you just now, but you already call me. I’ve been busy for these past few days with my cousin came to my home and all that stuff.” She says.
“Well nice excuse, huh?”
“Hey that’s true, beside how can I forget about you.” She says as she’s making fun of me.
“Whatever, by the way happy birthday huh? Now that you’ve got older and become twenty I guess it’s the part where you should not act like a child anymore and get more mature.” I’m teasing her.
“Thank you, I guess I’ll take it as a compliment.”
“So where will we celebrate this whole getting-older thing? You know, last year I missed your birthday and it will not happen again this time.”
“Well, I was thinking about a place where it has a nice environment to spend time together, chat about a lot of thing, has a nice food, and a place where not a lot of people come to in a day.”
“What are you implying?”
“Well, I was implying about Natar. Tomorrow ?” She says.
“Hmm, really out of ordinary restaurant huh, because it takes about an hour to get there, but no problem with me. And tomorrow is fine”
“Then it’s settle. I’ll inform the others then.”
“Fine, just text me the name later, pick you up at twelve?”
“Twelve is great.”

I can feel the enthusiasm in her voice about this whole birthday plan. And since we haven’t talk on the phone for a long time, we really use this time to chat about everything. And the last time I remember is that she promise me to tell something about her boyfriend and she really tells me now. And I didn’t say anything about Claire because I have nothing left to tell to her, because I guess it’s already over between me and Claire and there’s no point to talk about it anymore.

“Well Steve can I call you back? He calls.” She says.
“Well okay, I guess see you tomorrow then.” I reply.
“Yeah, see you.”
“Can’t wait to meet you.”
And we got off the phone.

This is for my people’s who just lost somebody
Your best friend, your baby, your man or your lady
Put your hand way up high, we will never say bye
Mamas, daddies, sisters, brothers, friends and cousins
This is for my people’s who lost their grandmothers
Lift your head to the sky, cause we will never say bye

I never knew I could hurt like this
And everyday life goes on
I wish I could talk to you for a while
Wish I could try not to cry
As time goes by
And as soon as you reached a better place
Still I’d give the world to see your face
And I’m bragging next to you
It feels like you’ve gone too soon
Now the hardest thing to do is say bye bye
(a piece of lyric from Bye Bye by Mariah Carey)
